Madison Benjamin Obituary
KINGSTON — Madison Paige Benjamin, 4, of Kingston, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, following a courageous battle with Nemaline Myopathy.
She was born on June 17, 2009, in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of Joseph and Tracy Danko Benjamin. Madison spent a majority of her time in the PICU at Geisinger in Danville, and also attended school at John Heinz. She loved Elmo and Minnie Mouse, and her favorite color was purple.
Maddie was preceded in death by her great grandfather, Joseph Benjamin.
Madison is survived by her parents, Tracy and Joseph Benjamin; her sister, Mackenzie; grandparents, Tressia and Charles Dancheck, Joseph Benjamin, Jr., Wanda Benjamin, and Walter Danko; great-grandparents, Virginia and Charles Dancheck, Sandra Rinish, and Elizabeth Llewelyn; aunts, Cassandra Danko, Larissa Wilkes, Diana Benjamin, and Jolene Benjamin; uncles, Walter Danko, Jr., and John Benjamin; great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with Pastor Carol Fleming officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
