MOUNTAIN TOP — Megan Elizabeth Walsh, 36, of Mountain Top and formerly of Laflin, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Kingston on June 12, 1979, she was a daughter of Jane Walsh Waitkus, Frank Waitkus and the late Richard Walsh.
Megan was a graduate of Crestwood High School and Penn State University and was a member of St. Jude Parish, Mountain Top.
She is survived by her children, Genavive, Dylan and Zariah. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel Kieran Walsh; her sister, Maura Walsh Conklin and her husband, Jamie Conklin; her uncle, George Michaels; an aunt, Carol Michaels; and numerous cousins. She is also survived by the father of her children, Zigmund Januszewski.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ann and George Michaels, Plains Township, and Mary and Daniel Walsh, Exeter; and her uncles, Daniel M. Walsh and Aloysius Kress.
The family is grateful to the staff at Temple Fox Chase Bone Marrow Unit, the Be the Match Organization and Megan's stem cell donor from Germany.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her children's education fund in care of Jane Walsh Waitkus, 987 Prospect Road, Mountain Top, PA 18707.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 13 in St. Jude Parish, 420 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with the Rev. Joseph J. Evanko, pastor, as celebrant. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Arrangements were by the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
