Larry Booze Obituary

Larry E. "Joe" Booze, Sr., 68, of Fort Loudon, PA, died at 6:00AM Monday, November 23, 2009 at home. Born Joe Yohe on October 14, 1941 in Chambersburg, he was adopted by Paul L. and Hazel R. Etter Booze. He was a 1959 graduate of the Fannett-Metal High School and served in the US Army National Guard. He went on to become a licensed Master Plumber in Virginia, retiring as co-owner in 1999 from Booze Plumbing of Vienna, VA. Joe was a life member of the Metal Township Fire Company where he was a former Board Member and was currently serving in his tenth year as President. The neighborhood "Mr. Fix-it", he was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors and friends. For the past two years, he served as Sewer Inspector and Job Foreman for the Metal Township Municipal Authority.

He is survived by his loving wife, M. Jean Cole Booze, whom he married on February 25, 1972; three children, Margaret A. Owen and husband Brian of Mechanicsburg, Patricia L. Cramer and husband Luke of Friedens, PA, and Larry E. Booze, Jr. and wife Crystal of Ft. Loudon; and five grandchildren, Emily and Sam Owen, Casey and Jarod Cramer, and Joey Booze. He is also survived by two sisters, Grace Gibson of Ft. Loudon, Mary Jane West and husband Kenneth of Mechanicsville, VA; and four brothers, Ben Yohe of Conway, SC, Galen Yohe and wife Lois of St. Thomas, Richard Yohe of Duncannon, and Gary Buck and wife Nancy of Ewing, NJ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Booze and Donnie Yohe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church, Fannettsburg, PA. Rev. Donna Ryan will officiate. Interment will follow in Carrick United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday in Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA, and one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Metal Township Fire Company, c/o Michelle Junkin, PO Box 185, Fannettsburg, PA 17221.
