Nadine Deardorff Obituary

Sunday' Child Nadine Taylor Deardorff, of Chambersburg, PA died Sunday March 4th. Born Sunday April 23, 1961 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband James B. Deardorff and two Children Kathryn May Deardorff and Cole Taylor Deardorff. Also her parents Victor and Carole Taylor of Shippensburg, PA and her brother Victor K. Taylor of Newville, PA. Nadine grew up as an "Army Brat" an was fortunate to have lived in Germany for a number of years. In Whitehall, Ohio, she enjoyed playing softball and played the clarinet in the Whitehall High School Band. She along with her fellow band members were chosen to be in the Inaugural Parade in 1977 for Jimmy Carter the 39th President. Nadine was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and Wilson College with a B.A. in Religion and a minor in Social Ethics. She has also worked as a licensed cosmetologist. Nadine took her education very seriously and strived to always be the best or top notch in her classes. Her children were first in her life. Nadine had been a soccer mom, room mother, and member of the Middle School Science Fair Committee. She also loved animals, especially dogs, reading, art, and traveling. Rarely if ever did she speak a harsh word to anyone and always greeted people with her lovely smile and was there to help anyone out when ever she could. She was employed by CAMS as a library assistant and then became an ESL assistant at the Chambersburg High School. Nadine organized several fundraisers at CAMS, one especially "Kiss the Pig". She found the ESL Program at CASHS a challenge creating innovative ways to encourage students. She will always be remembered by many as having a happy, radiant, infectious personality. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to the building fund for the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter or the Chambersburg Police K-9 Unit.
