Philip Bell

Hanover - Philip G. "Phil" "Fib" Bell, 84 of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Menno Haven in Chambersburg.

He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Barbara Stevens Bell.

Born January 20, 1937 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Glenn G. and Lillian (Essick) Bell.

Mr. Bell was a graduate of Eichelberger High School in Hanover, class of 1956. He then attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL.

He served in the Army National Guard from 1959 to 1965.

Phil worked at Middleburg Manufacturing Co. (a division of Genesco) for 18 years, and then at J. Schoeneman in Chambersburg until his retirement. He was an avid Penn State football fan and also coached the Fayetteville Browns for a number of years. Phil was dedicated to his family and enjoyed vacationing with them in Cape May. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fayetteville where he sang in the church choir and volunteered with the food pantry, and was also a member of the Hanover Elks BPOE # 763.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bell is survived by 2 sons: Allen Bell and his wife, Julie of New Market, VA and Bruce Bell and his wife, Beth of Downington, PA; 2 granddaughters: Lauren Ann Bell and Addison Eileen Bell, 1 sister-in-law, Eleanor Bell, as well as 10 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Gloria Frederick and Terry Bell.

A memorial service to celebrate Phil's life will be held at a later date, to be determined. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phil's name to the Food Pantry at St. Paul Lutheran Church; 44 East Main St,; Fayetteville, PA 17222, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105 or online at https://www.stjude.org/give.html.

Hi for the short time I work with him he was lovable he make me laugh so many times. When me and Shelly take care of him he was such a joy we always say to each other what he has done we would talk him him them laugh together. One day he make us laugh so why? Take is glass of put it on the bed was doing some else the nurse the she who put is glass on I ask why is glass was on upside down because he put them on himself. We love him may is soul Rest In Peace. God Bless
