Sharon K. "Sherry" Salmon

Chambersburg - Sharon K. "Sherry" (Chilcutt) Salmon, 66, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 in her home. Born September 20, 1954 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. Chilcutt, Jr. and Betty L. (Brown) Chilcutt.

She was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1972. Sherry was employed by the Chambersburg Area School District at Hamilton Heights Elementary school as a library remedial aid. She retired in 2015 after 20 years of service.

Sherry was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg where she served on the Service Committee. More than anything else, Sherry loved spending time with her two grandsons. She loved taking them on "adventures" to Gettysburg, Caledonia, and many more. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach. As long as there was sand and sun, she was happy.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John E. Salmon, who she married on August 14, 1976 in Fourth Street Church of the Brethren, Chambersburg. Sherry is also survived by her son, Justin Salmon and his wife Lindsay of Greencastle, PA; two grandsons, Matthew and Mason; three siblings, Lynn Richardson of Hagerstown, MD, Chris Chilcutt and his wife Teresa of Mercersburg, PA and Mike Chilcutt and his wife Angela of Clover, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 431 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Rev. Dr. Aaron Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sherry's honor to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 431 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
