Allan Spicher

1937 - 2024

Allan Spicher, of Gipsy, passed Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at his home with his family close by. He was 87.
He was the oldest son of Wilson "Boots" and Mary (States) Spicher. He was born June 11, 1937.
Allan was a member of Gipsy Christian Church.
He married the love of his life and soulmate, Shirley "Shyrl" (Niel) Spicher on Jan. 4, 1958.
Allan was a charter member of the first skydiving club in Western PA located in Wellsboro.
He worked in the coal business and for Interstate Amesite.
In 1967, he became a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 66, working mainly in the oil and gas fields building locations and pipe lining. He also taught at the Operating Engineering training site quite a few years ago.
After his retirement, Allan and Shyrl liked to travel and took many cruises, which they really enjoyed.
He loved his family dearly and enjoyed their time together.
Allan is survived by his wife, Shyrl of Gipsy; his daughter, Alyson Reitz and husband William; his son and caregiver, Kevin Spicher and wife Cindy (Brocious); his brother, William Spicher and wife Phyllis; his brother-in-law, Barry Niel and wife Sharon; his sister-in-law, Donna Spicher; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy Spicher.
Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale. A private funeral service will be held for his family. Interment will be at Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale.
