Andrew Nelson Obituary
He was born in Philadelphia on Aug. 24, 1951, the son of the late Andrew A. and Alice (Hubert) Nelson.
Andrew attended Sharon Hill High School, Philadelphia, and graduated class of 1973 from Penn State University, State College.
He was employed for 42 years at P&N Coal Company, Punxsutawney, as the CFO, retiring from that position in June of 2020.
He is survived by daughters Nicole Nelson of Wilkes Barre and Brittany Nelson of Buffalo, New York; two adoring grandchildren, CJ Long and Emma Long; sister Rose Troilo and husband Daniel of Scottsdale, Arizona; and nieces and nephews. Former wife, Evis Ross (Neil) of Bear Creek Township, became Andy's dedicated caretaker as he battled late-stage cancer with great strength. Evis and Andy found companionship in the care of their grandchildren and through Evis's steadfast and compassionate commitment to Andy's comfort during his convalescence.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by George A Strish, Inc. Funeral Home, 105 North Main St., Ashley, PA.

I was so sorry to hear of Andy's passing. I had the pleasure and honor of working with Andy on many matters while he was with P&N Coal. He was a gentleman and professional in all his dealings. A gentle and honest man. My deepest sympathies to his family.

WE were so saddened to hear of Andy's passing. Our sincere sympathy and prayers to the family . I worked with Andy for over 30 years, and became very good friends.We also shared many hockey stories about Philly and Pittsburgh.
