Darlene Mae Parsell

1944 - 2023

Darlene Mae Parsell, 79, of Punxsutawney, passed away June 23, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital.
She was born on March 4, 1944, in Mahaffey the daughter of the late Harvey Bouch and Emily (Strawcutter) Bouch-Lingenfelter.
Retired, Darlene was a certified peer specialist and formerly certified daycare provider. She ran her own daycare from 1997 to 2005. She went on to work for CenClear Child Services.
Darlene loved spending time with her family, friends and peers. She was devoted to her community and enjoyed giving back to others. She enjoyed music, NASCAR, crocheting and mowing the yard.
She was a lifelong member of the Historical and Genealogy Society of Punxsutawney.
She is survived by two sons, Randal Bouch and wife Susan of Reynoldsville, and Robert Parsell of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Krisy Stiver, Brittany Bouch, Stephen Bouch, Brandon Parsell, Travis Parsell and Jordan Parsell; three great-grandchildren, Maddex Bouch, Cadnan Bouch and Titan Bouch; and a sister, Beverly Killian of Punxsutawney.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Parsell; two brothers, Wilber Bouch and James Bouch; and two sisters, Deborah Vandervort and Judy Bowser.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. An additional hour of viewing will be held on 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill EUB Cemetery.
