Edward Chesnoka Obituary
He was born Oct. 1, 1940, to John and Helen (Olexy) Chesnoka in Olanta, Clearfield County.
Ed was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the United States Army. He was a member of the Rossiter American Legion and the Glen Campbell VFW. Ed was a shoe salesman for Knapp Shoes throughout western Pennsylvania until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed watching and coaching sports. He coached the Punxsy Hotel and the Rossiter Miners baseball teams and was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan.
He is survived by four daughters, Lisa Chesnoka, Kentucky; Kimberly Knox and husband Robert, Covode; Mary Chesnoka, DuBois; and Rita Chesnoka, Punxsutawney. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Kopp and husband Boyd and Jo Rodgers; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Jane Chesnoka, in 2017; a daughter, Mary Ann Chesnoka; a sister, Mary Ann Van Horn; and a brother, Ron Truance.
Friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, from 1 until 4 p.m., at which time a prayer service will be officiated by Father Keon Tu. Internment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
