HAROLD J. "BOOGIE" UTRUP

Harold J. "Boogie" Utrup OTTAWA Harold J. "Boogie" Utrup, 86, of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at his residence. He was born November 9, 1937, in Kalida to the late Albert and Veronica (Krietemeyer) Utrup. On June 1, 1957, he married Lucia A. Wootten, who preceded him in death on August 4, 2011. Harold is survived by two children: Catherine (William) Ward of Shawnee and Debra (Michael) Haselman of Glandorf; 11 grandchildren: Brian Ward, Sherry Moore, Chad Recker, Chrissy Utrup, Keith Ward, Ashley Moyer, Michael Bice, Shelby Vickery, Toby Vickery, Tristan Smith and Jessica Weimert; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Miller; and three siblings: Dorothy (Wilfred) Kleman, Brother Leo Utrup and Albert Utrup. Harold retired from Philips, Ottawa. He served in the US Navy Reserves. During retirement, he enjoyed driving van for Niece Transport. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa VFW and social member of the Ottawa Eagles. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing, following O-G Basketball and Football, and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Glandorf. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
