ROBERT KUHLMAN Obituary
ROBERT "BOB" KUHLMAN
Robert "Bob" Kuhlman, known affectionately as "Jag," passed away on [date]. Born in Lima, Ohio, on March 1, 1945, Bob was the beloved son of the late Marie (Nartker) and Oscar Kuhlman. He graduated from Glandorf High School in 1963 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably for four years during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Bob dedicated 25 years of his career to General Motors in Defiance, Ohio, working in the Core room.
Bob was a devout member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Clyde, Ohio, and actively participated in the Fraternal Eagles club and the VFW. His passions included cheering for the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially playing O'Henry cards with his grandchildren. He had a sweet tooth for ice cream and cookies, which were a cherished part of his daily routine.
On July 31, 1995, Bob married Carolyn (Lanham) Gooding, who preceded him in death on April 17, 2024. He is survived by his loving children: Michelle (Kurt) Yearling of Newark, Ohio; Mike Kuhlman of Marysville; Matt Kuhlman of Howell, Michigan; and Adam (Christine) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Ohio. Additionally, he is survived by two stepchildren, Troy (Lynn) Gooding of Capella, Texas, and Tomi (John) Sachs of Bellevue. Bob will be dearly missed by his siblings: Alan (Theresa) Kuhlman of Ottawa; William (Ruth) Kuhlman of Kalida; and Kay Brown of New Bavaria. He leaves behind six grandchildren (Keaton, Halen, Peyton, Ethan, Allison, and Kaitlyn) and seven step-grandchildren (Jason, Ashley, Galen, Molly, Connor, Jori, and Dimitri), all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
In addition to his parents and wife Carolyn, Bob was preceded in death by two stepsons, Mick Gooding and Jeff Gooding.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, located at 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. A private Catholic Mass will follow for the family, with burial at Block Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bob's caregivers, Gloria Keegan and Heather Hall, as well as Ashley, Mark, Brenda, and Emily from Firelands Home Care, for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Bob during his final days.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Firelands Home Care in Bob's honor.
Bob's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a proud veteran who served his country with honor. May he rest in peace.
