Tim J. Ford
OTTAWA - Tim J. Ford, age 70 of Ottawa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was born on October 29, 1954, in Kenton to the late Nelliemae Hite Ford. He graduated from Upper Scioto Valley High School in 1972.
Tim married the love of his life, Sherri (Klausing) on May 17, 1975. They proudly share their wedding anniversary with their granddaughter and recently celebrated 50 years loving each other with a photo shoot at a local county fair.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri and their three children: Justin (Alaina) Ford of Defiance, Sarah (Dan) Moore also of Defiance, and Nicholas (Gareth) Ford-Thompson of Seattle, WA. They have ten grandchildren: Tim, Cameron, Alyssa, Kaelyn, Makayla (Tom Johnson) and Daniel Moore, Payton (Hunter) Conn, Daemon Ford, Tobi Daenens and Dale Lloyd as well as 4.5 great grandchildren. He has three surviving siblings: Tom (Sandy) Ford, Susan Ford and Shirley Castle, several aunts and uncles, mother-in-law Kathy Klausing, sister-in-law, Erin (Rick) Hughes, brother-in-law Mark (Lori) Klausing, and many nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Ford, sister, Sandy Ford and father-in-law, Bill Klausing.
Tim joyfully retired from the Lima Ford Motor Plant in 2001. After retirement he enjoyed delivering campers all over the United States, often turning work into a holiday. He also drove buses throughout Ohio as well as to Washington DC for all sorts of fun day outings with students and various groups. Tim was so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy a second career after retirement where he was always meeting new people.
Tim Ford will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He was a sincerely good man who always made time for the people in his life no matter the hour or need. A man who could truly be depended upon. Tim was a fixer of everything for everyone, holding endless knowledge from a lifetime spent teaching himself how to take care of others. He was always just a phone call or a text away. Tim loved adventures and enjoyed countless hours spent fishing on Lake Erie, camping, and boating on the Maumee River with his family. No drive was too far for Tim. He regularly drove to Defiance and Toledo to see his family and would happily volunteer to take long shifts behind the wheel on cross country trips to see his sons or make exciting vacation memories with his wife and daughter. With his down time he enjoyed supporting all local athletics, especially the Titans, even coaching girls CYO and boys basketball. He was the biggest Cleveland Browns fan through thick or thin. Tim had a wonderfully smart sense of humor. He held all of his "Bobs" in very high esteem and is the true author of the phrase "Ford Tough", which he created as a motto by which he taught his family to live by. His absence will forever be felt by those who love him.
