Carole Marie Keen

1936 - 2021

1936 - 2021 Carole was born on September 17, 1936, in Long Beach, CA to Oscar F. and Claudine M. Grebner. She had one older brother, David. Her family resided in Avalon Village and she attended Banning High School. She and her high school sweetheart, Lewis K. Keen, Jr., married young, had four children, and made their home in Carson, even before Carson was Carson. She was a lifelong resident of the city, up until her death on November 2, 2021. Carole began getting involved in her children's school's PTA's, and from there she was hooked into a lifetime of community service in Carson. She founded many organizations, was involved in many more, and received many awards and honors.

To say Carole loved frogs and toads would be an understatement. She played with real ones as a child, and then collected any figurine, bag or book having to do with frogs. They grew to be her trademark. They adorned her home, inside and out, and she became known as the frog lady.

Carole was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her 4 children: Kathy (Norman) Carter, Michael Keen, Edie (Tab) Haney, and Theresa (Jon) Cain, 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A memorial will be held in her honor on Sunday December 5th at 11am at the Carson Community Center, 801 E. Carson St. Carson CA
