Andrew, 64, of Moline, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his residence.
Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Andrew was born on May 7, 1960, in Moline, the son of Wayne L. and Ida M. (Christiansen) Mooney. He married Teresita Jesalva in 1982. Andrew worked in the IT Department at UPH-Trinity. He enjoyed anything to do with technology and watching sports. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Teresita Mooney; children, Ryan (Nicole) Manuel, Wayne (Britanya) Mooney, and Robert (Maribel) Mooney; grandchildren, Gabriel, Angel, Chandler, Emerald, Kahlan, Jacob, Lily, and Cullen; and siblings, Patricia and Wade Mooney. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Mooney.

During Christmas break I located Andy's number but there was no answer. I came back to try again, and I find this! I kick myself for not being more persistent.
The last I saw Andy was 3-5 days after graduation. He was going into Navy, so I took him on a drinking trip. We attempted to get a beer from every open bar driving towards Wisconsin. I drove (if that's what you wish to call it). We only made it about half-way, and it became obvious that we could not attain the goal. I drove him home and dropped him off, which is the last time I saw him, just like the picture. He wrote me from boot camp, but being an 18 year-old, I was too lazy to respond. I could give many details about our little "trip," but will only say that he got a proper going away.
Thanks, Andy, for the memories and your friendship in High School. I pray that you had a happy life and brought much value to others as you did to mine.
