Ardda Fae McRell
October 38, 1946 - July 20, 2023
Ardda Fae McRell was born October 28, 1946 and passed peacefully on July 19, 2023. Fae grew up in Hillsdale, IL, and attended Zuma and Riverdale Schools. She graduated from Riverdale High School where she was active in cheerleading, baton twirling, and GAA among other activities and from Northern Illinois University with a BA in Elementary Education and Speech Correction. She taught elementary education at Erie and Lansing, IL, before starting a family raising five daughters. She was married to her neighbor, Marvin McRell for 54 years. Marv's employment moved them to New York, Chicago area, East Peoria, and Bettendorf. Many happy years were spent with the girls activities in tumbling and dance classes, recitals, children's sporting activities including ASA softball, track, basketball, and volleyball at the grade school, high school and college level, as a girl scout leader, school and neighborhood activities and neighborhood current river canoe trips in Missouri. Fae played slow pitch softball and was an avid bowler. Fae's hobbies included gardening, baking, quilting, sewing, reading, puzzles, music, dancing, collecting antiques, and playing bunko with friends. Fae and Marv enjoyed traveling, snowbirding in Florida, Arizona, and Alabama and especially spending summers at their cabin in Minocqua, WI.
Fae was preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Margaret Wreath of Hillsdale, IL; and her brother William Wayne Wreath of Juneau, WI. She is survived by her husband Marvin; their five daughters and 15 grandchildren. Amy (Paul) Bouska, Iowa City, IA, and their children Katherine, Jacob, Joey, and Alexander; Monica (Steve) Lindmark, Naperville, IL, and their children Braden, Owen, Nelson, and Abram; Angie (Josh) Luckritz, Princeton, IA, and their children Colin and Kinsey; Amanda (Ted) Rebitzer, Bettendorf, IA, and their children Lily and Max; Andrea (Ethan) Mahler, LeClaire, IA, and their children, Wyatt, Cruze and Sully.
Fae's body will be donated to the National Alzheimer's Research. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com
