MOLINE-Barbara "Barb" S. McArthur, 83, of Moline, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Memorial visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.
Barbara was born on December 26, 1938, in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Robert and Geraldine (Carter) Sellar. She married Charles "Charlie" McArthur on April 16, 1960, in Winthrop, Maine. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2018. She studied at Black Hawk College and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Human Services. Barb was a wonderful cook, enjoyed playing bridge with friends and was a fabulous and dedicated shopper, especially for shoes and purses. Most important to Barb was her loving family. She was a wonderful mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children. Bill (Lynn) McArthur, Simpsonville, SC, Gerri (Joe) Whitcomb, Bloomington, IL, Lorri McArthur (Gordon McKinney), Moline; grandchildren, Eric (Shanna) McArthur, Melissa (Josh) Phinney, Sarah (Josh) Shebek, Jon Hobert, Chris (Kathleen Chaney) Hobert, Jacob (Allison) Whitcomb, Molly Whitcomb; great grandchildren, Caleb and Lila McArthur, Madison and Colton Shebek.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Bill Sellar and Betty Ryan.
