ROCK ISLAND-Bette J. Samuelson, 90, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Friday January 13, 2023 at Park Vista Assisted Living, East Moline.

Visitation will be 10:00am to 12:00pm Saturday January 21, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer's Association.

Bette was born on September 25, 1932 in Moline, the daughter of Nelson and Alice (Pinaire) Johnson. She united into marriage with Don Samuelson on August 8, 1964 in First Christian Church, Moline.

Mrs. Samuelson was a member of the former South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, where she had been active with several committees, served as a deacon and assisted with Sunday School. She had also been active with Twentieth Century Women's Club, American Business Women's Association.

Bette loved oil painting, spending time with her family, especially spending time, vacationing and shopping with her sister in law Carlene.

Survivors include her sons, Kurt and Julie Samuelson, Craig and Mindi Samuelson; daughter, Debbie and Mike DeWitte; grandchildren, Brandt Samuelson, Laura Ahearn, Sheena Hedlin, Tiffany Atilano and Lindsay Giovannetti; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; granddaughter, Angela Samuelson; brothers, Wayne Johnson and Perry Holt; and sister, Sally Chancellor.
