July 16, 1981 - August 7, 2025
Bonnie Jean Blakeney, 44, of Boise, ID passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She passed away from complications of surgery. She attended East Moline school district until grade 8. Then she graduated from Geneseo, IL in the class of 1999. Onward through nursing school with advanced degrees in certification. Quoting a doctor who said "She was a rare breed to have the Heart and Smarts". Per her request cremation rites were accorded. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from noon to 4 p.m. at the River House, Second Floor, 1510 River Drive, Moline, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron C. Mabey, Boise, ID ; parents, John & Melanie DeCap; in-laws John & Sue Mabey, Boise, ID; sisters, Jennifer Blakeney (Christopher Carlson); Danielle (Rich) Willemkens; Ashley (Dallas) Skiles; sister-in-law, Megan (Tommy) Miller; uncle, John R. Witherspoon III, Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Shannon (Patrick) Walsh, Land-O-Lakes, FL; Serena Witherspoon (Kevin Schanfish); several nephews, nieces and cousins.
She will be forever missed, but never forgotten for of all the lives she touched.

My sympathy to the DeCap family. It´s my only connection to Bonnie.
No words from me can ease the loss and I understand that. The loss of a family member is so very personal. The dynamics so very diverse. The sting of death is severe. It´s my hope that well wishes from those that are privileged to be a part of the living can ease your sorrow.

Thank you Melanie for giving me my soul sister! Bonnie knew me more than I knew me. She was rock and now my rock has crossed over but I know shes with me everyday cause I feel and she her as a hummingbird! I was blessed to have had her as long as I did! In 2022 Bonnie and I got soul sister tattoos so I will forever have her with me. She wanted hers on the right and mine on the left cause she knew she was always right! I cry everyday for her. I feel like i won't ever recover but I know in time i will learn to live without my rock!
