Charles "Charlie" Farrell

April 24, 1948-November 13, 2020

Charles "Charlie" Farrell, 72, died peacefully Nov. 13, 2020, in Tucson with his family by his side. He was born April 24, 1948, in Moline, IL, the son of Dorothy Silvia (Hall) and Sidney Joseph Farrell. Charles was raised in Geneseo, IL with his older brother, John.

He graduated from J. D. Darnall Senior High School Class of 1966. Following graduation, Charlie moved to the Chicago area and entered the apprenticeship program for the Plumbers Union. He settled in Lindenhurst, where he raised a family and started a successful plumbing business. In 1996, Charlie sold his business and relocated with his wife to Arizona. After a few years in Phoenix, they built their home of 20 years in Casa Grande, AZ. Charlie took a job with Gila River Health Care where he worked until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Ziemba) Farrell. Over the years, Charlie served as a coach for his children and helped with a variety of civic organizations. He and his wife supported local animal shelters and he loved camping with her and his dog, Buddy.

Charles is survived by his children, Sydney (David) Ryan, Lindenhurst, IL and Jessica Farrell, Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Susan, Timothy and Henry Ryan of Lindenhurst and Christian Padgett of Casa Grande; as well as his brother, John (Mary) Farrell of Geneseo.

Private services and interment will be held in Illinois. In lieu of flowers, gifts of remembrance may be made to the local animal shelter for spaying and neutering services.
