Cheryl Lynn Steiner, 70, of Mishawaka, IN., passed away at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 in her home. Cheryl was born on July 17, 1950 in Chicago, IL, to Thad W. and Doris E. (Jackson) Turner.
Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Jeralyn (Mike) Swayer of Mishawaka, her grandchildren; KimberLee (Scott) Brooks, KaLynn (Steven) Burk, Jackson Holtzapple, McKenzie Niswonger and Brendon Niswonger all of Mishawaka, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, John (Karen) Turner of Mishawaka and Paul (Wendy) Turner of Des Plains, IL, many nieces and nephews, as well as her best friends Jerre Bainbridge and Jennifer (Dale) DeFauw both of the Quad Cities, IL.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Charlotte Jorgensen, two brothers, William Turner and Leonard Turner and her aunt, Helen Turner.
Cheryl graduated from Des Plains High School and University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL.
Cheryl was a respiratory therapist working for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where she was a department supervisor for many years. She worked as a sales rep for Hill-Rom until she became ill.
Cheryl was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed baseball card collecting, coin collecting, and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of the National Democratic Society.
There will be no services. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2605 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 900 West Western Avenue, South Bend, IN 46601.
