Dana Danay, 64, of Moline, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island. A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hampton Township Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Memorials may be made in care of the American Cancer Society.
Dana was born in Moline, IL on July 11, 1959, a daughter of Richard and Shirley Miller Barnett. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1977. Dana married Daniel "Dan" Danay Jr. on August 7, 1982.
Dana worked for Lee Enterprises and Small Newspaper Group, as a customer service representative.
Dana enjoyed reading, sewing and crafts. She loved going on trips to Disney with her family and cuddling with her German Shepherds.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dan Danay Jr., Moline; daughters, Heather and Crystal Danay; brother, David Barnett; step-mother, Mary Ann Barnett; step-sisters, Kathy (Rick) Bucher and DeAnna Bradley; step-brother, Allan (Tracy) English; uncle, Jim Black; aunt, Kathleen Lake; cousins: Beth (Gary) Bryant, Dee Dee (Mike) Kight, Jan Black, Jeremy Lake; niece, Tara Barnett; and nephew, Steven Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Barnett, Ethel and Roy Miller and Wilma Barnett and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
