Daniel "Dan" L. Cook

May 30, 1943 - May 1, 2025

Daniel L. Cook, 81, of Silvis, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Allure of the Quad Cities in Moline.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Silvis with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Daniel was born May 30, 1943, in Columbia, Mo., the son of Hershel and Martha Riggs Cook. He worked at John Deere Harvester as a bend breaks operator, retiring after 35 years. Dan was the last student in the one-room Frances E. Willard School House, also known as the Cook Schoolhouse in East Moline. He was a blood donor for over 30 years and enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a loving Christian and was very active at First Baptist Church in Silvis.

Survivors include his son, Derek (Lisa) Cook of Daytona Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Mina Cook, Summer Cook, and Morgan Cook; sisters, Linda Bunch of Virginia and Janice (John) Brixey of Rock Island; brother, Alan (Nancy) Cook of Geneseo; and several nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Dunsworth; and brother, David Cook.
