Phyllis dedicated her life to caring for others through nursing. Over the years, she served her community with compassion and commitment, including operating her own nursing home and spending a significant part of her career helping those in need through her work with mental health crisis care at the Robert Young Center. Caring for others was not just her profession-it was truly her calling.
Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother who welcomed many people into her life and heart. She is survived by her children, Debra (David) Lewis, Michael (Dianne) Cole; and son-in-law, Rob Lewis; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and bonus family members whom she loved dearly and considered part of her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Lewis; infant daughter, Sheryl Cole; and by former husband, Lawrence Cole.
Phyllis also shared a special bond with her longtime friend of 38 years, Claudia Moody, whose friendship brought her great joy over the years.
Those who knew Phyllis will remember her for her steadfast Christian faith, her love of tending her garden, her joy in Bichon Frise, and the heartfelt care and compassion she shared with so many throughout her life. She found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments.
