November 25, 1953 - September 20, 2024
Daniel J. Hoffman, 70, of Milan, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at his home. Services for Mr. Hoffman will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Milan American Legion Post No. 569. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
Daniel was born on November 25, 1953, in Moline, the son of Alvin and Geraldine (DeFrates) Hoffman. He married, Patricia Loring, on May 26, 1979, in Milan. Mr. Hoffman was a truck driver for YRC Trucking Lines for 45 years, retiring in 2017. Dan was a member of Teamsters Local No. 371, Rock Island.
An active spirit, Dan enjoyed running, going for bike rides, bowling, reading, and traveling with his wife, Pat. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Dan was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; children, Kristine (Jason) Klingaman; Jennifer (Justin) Shackleford; Diane Cox; Ryan Daniel Hoffman; and Rebekah Hoffman (Jason Bumgarner); grandchildren, Jacob; Courtney; Shayla; Alyssa; Nico; Tykel; Jamaree; and Quinci; great-grandchildren, Izaiah; Anthony; Rosie; Micah; Willow; Parker; Noah; Kai; and Grace; brothers, James A. Hoffman; and Gerald (Teresa) Hoffman.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Michael Hoffman; Rebecca Hoffman; and David Hoffman.
