October 15, 1937 - March 25, 2025

Funeral service for Frank L. Hodshire, 87, of East Moline, Illinois, will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Mr. Hodshire passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Frank was born October 15, 1937, in Havana, Illinois, the son of Francis and Marjorie Wilkinson Hodshire. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He married Carole Reents November 13, 1966, in East Moline. He was an East Moline Police officer for 22 years. Where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. He attended the FBI Academy in 1981 at Quantico, Virginia. Throughout his life, Frank enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carole Hodshire; children, Michael (Michelle) Hodshire, Geneseo, IL, and Ingrid Hodshire, East Moline; grandchildren, Tristan, Morgan, Chris, Breanna, and Jessica.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Karen Hexamer and Sharon Page.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the East Moline Police Benevolent Society.
