GALVA – Glenda Amelia Wallace, 57, of Galva, passed away at 1:02 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 7 at Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. Celebrant will be Fr. Johndamaseni Zilimu. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Atkinson. Memorials may be directed to the Bishop Hill Heritage Association, Henry County Humane Society or to Visitation Catholic School.
She was born December 18, 1963 in Kewanee, the daughter of Donald and Alma (Dhondth) Hampton. She married John "Mike" Wallace on September 12, 1992 and he survives of Galva. Also, surviving is her father of Galva, her son, Nicholas P. Wallace of Kewanee, five siblings; Donya (Dennis) Price of Kewanee, Shirlee (Greg) Fritch of Silvis, Sheila (DeWayne) Willey of Kewanee, Sharon (Dan) Jaques of Colorado and Chris (Lisa) Hampton of Monmouth, a sister-in-law, Barbara Wallace of California, two brothers-in-law, Jim Wallace of Kewanee and Jim Mueller of Moline and nieces and nephews: Stephanie (Brad) Fritch of Farmington, Chet Fritch of Peoria, Dean (Rachelle) Price of Kewanee, Duane (Torri) Price of Sheffield, Brett (Jessica) Johnson of Kewanee, Donald (Stephanie) Johnson of Monmouth, Jerry Johnson, Chris (Britney) Johnson and Joyce Willey, all of Kewanee, Stephan Johnson DeRosalyn of Minnesota, Juliana (Luke) Quedenfield of Pennsylvania, Jared (Trish) Jaques of Colorado, Alyssa (Dom) Greer of Monmouth and Matthew Mueller of Moline. She was preceded in death by her mother, a sister-in-law, Deb Mueller and her nephew, Justin Hampton.
Glenda graduated from Visitation Catholic School in 1978 and from Kewanee High School in 1982. She attended Black Hawk East and the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, IA. She worked as retail manager for various businesses including; Chess King, Target and the Colony Store and also operated the Grape Vine Art Studio in Bishop Hill. She attended Saint John Paul II Parish and was a member of the Target Volunteers for 18 ½ years and was a volunteer for the Bishop Hill Heritage Association.
