Gordon "Gordy" R. Wislander, 75, of Cambridge died on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness. A memorial visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 20th at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge. Burial will be at a later date in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorials may be made to Cambridge Fire Department.

Gordon R. Wislander was born December 19, 1949 in Geneseo, IL, the son of Luther P. and Edith L. (Strandberg) Wislander. Gordon graduated from Cambridge High School in 1969, and earned his Associate's Degree from Spoon River Community College in Canton, IL. He married Betty Gorden in 1977. They later divorced.

Gordon had farmed in the Cambridge area and was a diesel mechanic for several years at Empire Equipment in Geneseo. He then worked at CSI Homes in Cambridge. Gordon was a volunteer for Cambridge Fire Department and he enjoyed bowling, working on tractors, or fixing anything.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Alyssa Wislander; Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Hannah (Cameron) Johns, Bettendorf, Lukas Wislander, Davenport, and Jacob Wislander, Davenport; a great grandson, Bowen Johns; special niece and nephew, Brenda (Gary) Wager, Cambridge, and Kenn (Yun Sanders) Wislander, Monticello, IL; special great niece and great nephew, Heather Clementz and Matthew Wager; and lifelong friends, Joe and Kim Moriarity and Jerry Hancock. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sonja Sterling; and brother, Rev. Ed Wislander.
