Jack "Hans" W. Koeppel

ROCK ISLAND-Jack "Hans" W. Koeppel, 88, of Rock Island, IL, passed away May 4, 2023. Hans was born May 12, 1934, to Frank and Matilda Koeppel, in Knittelfeld, Austria. He came to the United States in 1960. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.
Hans enjoyed flying, hiking, reading and great food. But most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren. Hans loved to work and stay busy. He retired from McLaughlin body as a welder after 38 years. He then worked at Bad Boy'z Pizza to pass the time. Hans was a legend, a one-of-a-kind man. He lived for his family. He will forever be known for his strength and resilience.
Hans is survived by his four children, Isabella Scherer, Ben Koeppel, Christina Lum (Eric Mart), Natascha Koeppel. His seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and his best friend, Frank Cromer. He will be sadly missed.
