James (Jim) F. DeWitte, 67, of Moline, Il, passed away, Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Lakeland Florida.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Jim gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
A private service will be held. All are welcome to pay respects at a Visitation from 1:00–4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Memorials can be made to QC Paws 4001 - 78th Avenue, Moline IL 61265 or given online at http://www.qcpaws.org.
Jim was born on July 25, 1954, in Moline, the son of Frank and Helen (Braden) DeWitte. Jim graduated from Moline High School in 1972 and married Karen Carter in 1973. He worked for over 36 years at John Deere Harvester, retiring in 2010. Jim was an enthusiastic hobbyist, from working on race cars and building and racing go-karts to camping, golfing, and bowling. He also enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in their various activities.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years Karen DeWitte; children, Michele (Darren) Gault, Amy (Rico) Navarro, Jeff DeWitte, all of Moline; grandchildren, Austin DeWitte, Maya, Hannah, & Owen Gault, and Ava & Marcus Navarro; siblings, Frank DeWitte, Jr, Gerald (Cindy) DeWitte, Sharon (Terry) Roets, Kim (Dave) Gorge, and Paula (Jay) Paaske; in-laws Pat Keenan and Janice (Michael) Mann; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Harold and Cecelia Carter.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was one of the many kids who grew up on 24th St. Moline. Such a cute kid! We always played baseball in his huge yard. He will always be remembered with heart felt memories!
