Visitation will be 9 am to 12 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Mr. Gomez passed away Wednesday October 15th, at his home.

Born July 12, 1944, in Moline, to Paul and Ruby Castro Gomez. Jim married his high school sweetheart Colleen Martin April 1964 at St. Anne's Catholic Church East Moline.

Jim spent his childhood in a diverse ethic neighborhood with friends, i.e., playing on railroad tracks and in the boxcars, staying out till street lights came on. He started his first job Churuvia's Flower shop next door.

Jim worked 40 years for John Deere retiring as a welder in 2004.

He was predeceased by sisters, Virginia Raymond, Suzy Ortiz; brother, Joe Gomez; brothers in law, Frank Segura, Ron Raymond, Pete Ortiz; and sister in law Mary Gomez; nieces, Patty Ramirez and Nancy Ortiz.
