James Seyller Obituary
April 23, 1943 - October 8, 2025
Tampico – James F. Seyller, 82, of Tampico, died at 3:11pm, Wednesday October 8th, 2025, at Allure of Prophetstown, in Prophetstown, Ill.
He was born on April 23, 1943, in Sterling, Ill., the son of Fredrick and Alice (Carroll) Seyller. He married Rita Driscoll on November 6, 1965, at Visitation Catholic Church in Kewanee, Ill. He is survived by his four children, David (Kris) Seyller of Prophetstown, Ill., Susan Dorsey of Toulon, Ill., Michael (Tracy) Seyller of North Aurora, Ill., and Kevin (Amy) Seyller of Rockford, Ill; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Betty (Dale) Harvey and a son-in-law, Barry Dorsey.
Jim graduated from Annawan High School in 1961. He owned and operated the family farm. In addition, he worked in various positions including Machine Operator, Sales, Programmer, and Supervisor in manufacturing plants initially at Micro Gear in Prophetstown for 20 years and later at Frantz Mfg in Sterling for 35 years.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.
He enjoyed photography, astronomy, and was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed classic John Deere tractors and spending time with family.
A visitation will be held at 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Reverend Slawomir Zimodro officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Tampico.

I worked with Jim at Frantz for many years. I enjoyed the times we were able to just talk about life. He was always polite and respectable to everyone. I was blessed to have known him. My sincere condolences to Jim's family. He was a good man!
