Joseph F. Ramirez

Joseph F. Ramirez, 91, of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM.
Joe was born January 25, 1933, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Florencio and Emelia Rovles Ramirez. He married Helen Herrera October 8, 1951, in Laredo, TX. Joe worked for the former East Moline Metal Products where he retired after 43 years of service.
Throughout his life Joe enjoyed coaching little league baseball, watching Quad City Mallards hockey, spending time with family and frequenting the casinos with Helen.
Joe was honored for all of the years he donated his time coaching little league baseball with an award called The book of Golden Deeds from the City of East Moline.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Helen Ramirez, East Moline; IL, sons: Ronald (Jill) Ramirez, Rock Island, IL, and Gary Ramirez, Houston, TX; grandchildren: Kirk (Kendra)Ramirez, Moline, IL, Kory (Krista) Ramirez, Lakeland, FL, Nick (Bailie) Baker, Bettendorf, IA, Erica Ramirez(Chase Damewood) Andalusia, IL, Tiana Darling, Aberdeen, NC, Rachel (Tim) Johnson, Bend, OR, Sydney (Nick) Zuiker, Houston, TX; as well as ten great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Mara, Jameson D., Gracie, Helena, Millie, Jameson B., Ryleigh, Caden, Hudson; sister-in-law, Kathy Ramirez, Pensacola, FL; special nephew, Snoop Ramirez; Helen's seven sisters; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe for masses in Joe's memory.
