Karen Bowling Kramer, 71, of Moline, passed away on January 11, 2024, at her home.
Private services were held at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial is at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family, which will be donated to local animal rescues.
Karen was born on September 28, 1952, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Mildred (Grundstrom) and M. Donald Bowling. Karen married her soulmate Gary Lee Kramer on August 7, 1982, in Moline, IL. Gary passed away on December 7, 2001, in Rock Island, IL.
Karen graduated from Moline High School and earned her bachelor's degree in Information Systemsomputer Science from Southern Illinois University. Karen worked as an Information Systems Manager at John Deere from which she retired after 35 years. She loved reading, music, travel, animals and especially adored her grand dogs Jack and Ruby.
Survivors include her daughters Sarah (Andrew Martens) Kramer and Jennifer (Austin) Walker; mother Millie Bowling; sisters Carol Brien and Kathleen (Rick) Deist; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father M. Donald and husband Gary.
