Karen Ann Narske, 79, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. A private memorial service will be planned at a later date. Karen was born in Springfield, Illinois on January 25, 1943, the daughter of Ernest R. and Florence A. Wolf Smith. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Augustana College, Rock Island.
Karen married Richard M. Narske on June 12, 1965 in Naperville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2016.
Karen worked over 20 years as an administrative assistant for Rock Island High School and retired in the mid-2000's.
She was a member of the Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild and was active for many years in Quad Cities Quilts of Valor and with Operation Christmas Child.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dr. Elizabeth Narske, Rock Island and Dr. Robert (Fietka) Narske, Ann Arbor, Mich.; grandsons, Raleigh and Emery Narske; and brother, Arnold (Jackie) Smith, Cleveland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
