August 3, 1932 - May 4, 2025

Kathleen M. Frett, 92, of Moline, passed away Sunday May 4, 2025 at Overlook Village, Moline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline with a rosary recited by the Altar and Rosary Society at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Seton Catholic School or Alleman Catholic High School.

Kathy was born August 3, 1932 in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Emmett and Gertrude (Ronan) Ryan. She married Leo Frett on November 22, 1952 in Clinton, Iowa at the former Sacred Heart Church.

Kathy graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Waukon, Iowa. She graduated from Marycrest College with a degree in Social Work in 1986. She went on to gain her Master's Degree from the University of Iowa in 1992.

Kathy retired from the Center for Alcohol and Drug Services, Rock Island in 1997 after 10 years of service. She also worked at Career Consultants Black Hawk College, Moline from 1986-1988.

Kathy went through the steps of Cursillo, including being Rectora and doing the Fourth Day Rollo. She and her husband, Leo were couple leaders in Marriage Encounter. She was a very active member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline where she was Eucharistic Minister, Sunday School Teacher, Pastoral Care and sang with the Resurrection Choir as well as other family activities. She was also a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Survivors include her husband, Leo; children, Daniel (Greet) Vermeire Frett, Leuven, Belgium, Teresa (Arnie) Anderson, Taylor Ridge, Ill., Kenneth Frett, Tallahassee, Fla., Joseph Frett, Sisters, Ore. and Paul Frett, Minneapolis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Schulte and Mary Goetzel and brothers, John and Dennis Ryan.
