Kenneth J. Johnson, 83, of Clay Center, Kansas formerly of Aledo, Illinois, died Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Advena Living Center surrounded by his family. Graveside services for Kenneth are at 12:30pm on Monday, June 19, 2023 in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 10am - 12pm Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo prior to services. He was born July 7, 1939 in Aledo, Illinois to Harlan and Dorothy Wood Johnson. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1957. Kenneth enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1958-1962. On December 20, 1959 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth A. Carlson in Aledo.
Kenny was employed as a plumber at Adams Plumbing and Heating in Aledo. He purchased the business from Howard Adams and together with his partner, Bill Loving, they owned and operated Alliance Plumbing and Heating.
Kenny was a volunteer for the Aledo Fire Department for 43 years and was a former member of the Aledo Booster Club. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife; Liz, one son: Kenneth Dean (Vicki) Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; one daughter: Vicki (Larry) Clemons of Clay Center, KS; 7 grandchildren - Zach Springer, Silas Springer, Heather Mulligan, Jake Johnson, Nick Johnson, Emilee Kurt, and Faith Johnson; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters: Wanda O'Haver of Farmington, IL; Sandra (Louis) Powell of Aledo and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Judy, Peggy, and Connie; and one brother: James "Butch".
