CARBON CLIFF-Funeral services for Kenneth U. Stenger, 79, of Carbon Cliff, IL, will be 10 am Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 2-5 pm Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30pm. Mr. Stenger passed away, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Ken was born October 31, 1942 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Florenz and Esther (Schaecher) Stenger. He married Diane Masini September 2, 1967 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. He and his wife had been residents of Carbon Cliff since 1972. He worked at Norcross Safety Products, Rock Island, from 1974-2011. He was a volunteer fireman for Carbon Cliff for 22 years, vice president of the Optimist Club 1981-1984, and treasurer of Y-Indian Princess with his daughters. He loved his daughters and grandchildren very much.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Stenger, Carbon Cliff; daughter, Kristine Stenger, East Moline; son-in-law, Brian Rich, Moline; grandchildren, Grace Timler, Joseph Timler, and Dallas Rich; siblings, Marilyn Hrin, East Moline, Larry (Toni) Stenger, Colona, IL, Sharon (Mark) Mink, Eldridge, IA, Daniel Stenger, Moline, IL, Debra (Randy) Brown, Port Byron, IL, Dean (Penny) Stenger, Carbon Cliff, and Linda (Dwight) Mallum, Geneseo, IL: and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Angela Rich; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Rich on August 14, 2002; brothers-in-law, Steve Hrin and Richard Lair; and a nephew, David Lair.
In lieu of flowers or statuary, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 50 Memphis, TN, 38101 or to Mississippi Bend Trykes (MBT).
Ken will be buried next to his daughter and granddaughter.
His greatest joy in life was raising his daughters and watching their accomplishments.
