LaVerne A. Waldbusser, 89, formerly of Port Byron and Erie, IL, died Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Cedarhurst Memory Care of Moline. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with the Service to follow at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, rural Erie.
LaVerne was born July 24, 1933 in Texas, the daughter of Richard and Helena Tolle. She attended school in Texas, graduating from Schertz-Cibola High School in 1951. She also attended Augustana College. LaVerne married Frederick L. Waldbusser on May 30, 1980 in Port Byron, IL. She worked in Administration for Moline Public Hospital for many years. She and Fred owned and operated the Ole Brick House Bed and Breakfast in Port Byron which she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved to travel, attend estate sales, auctions and shop for antiques with her husband Fred. She enjoyed history, reading and bird watching.
LaVerne is survived by her children, William Helgason, Port Byron, Brad Helgason, IL, Jeffery (Sharon) Waldbusser, MI, Shari (Mark) Loy, Port Byron, Randy Waldbusser (Michele), CA, Timothy (Lori) Waldbusser, East Moline, Mark (Denae) Waldbusser, Davenport; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; niece, Valerie (Robert) Stillwell; and nephew, Randy Higginson.
