Lennis Ketelsen Obituary
February 13, 1942 - March 12, 2025
Lennis J. Ketelsen, 83, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL. Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm, prior to services. Private burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, IA.
Lennis was born on February 13, 1942 in Fort Dodge, IA, to John and Eva (Pierson) Ketelsen. He graduated from Cedar Valley High School in Somers, IA in 1961. Lennis married Sharon Rose Kuehl on February 16, 1979. She preceded him on November 25, 2024. Lennis retired from Alcoa where he was a member of the United Glass and Steel Workers Union for several decades.
Lennis enjoyed woodworking, building things and spending time with his dog Ella. His most precious moments were those spent with his grandchildren as he loved being a grandfather.
Lennis is survived his children Ross (Casandra) Ketelsen of East Moline, IL, Chad Ketelsen of Kissimmee, FL, Jon (Erin) Ketelsen of Port Byron, IL, and Christin Ketelsen of Moline, IL; sisters Janet Frotscher of Cedar Rapids, IA, Connie Thrailkill of Laurens, IA; nephew and niece Ryan Thrailkill and Stacey Hodges and their families; grandchildren Andrew Rusk, Ross Ketelsen, Jr., Leann Polancheck, Baylee Ketelsen, Andrea Ketelsen, Chad Jeffery Ketelsen II, Devin Ketelsen, Bryce Ketelsen, Madalyn Ketelsen, Nicholas Guldner, and Anna Ketelsen; great grandchildren Riley Rusk, Sky Ketelsen, and Aero Ketelsen.
