COAL VALLEY-Linda Lou Thompson, 84, of Coal Valley, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan or QC Paws.
Linda was born February 26, 1939, in Moline, a daughter of Carl S. and Helen L. (Cobert) Richmiller. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1957. Linda married Jimmy Hugh Thompson on October 3, 1959, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2018. Linda was a partner in ThomPant Uniforms and provided uniforms for many Quad City first responders. After leaving the business, she worked at Export Packaging before retiring. She enjoyed bowling in her early years, walking, and cats. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
Linda is survived by her sons, Darrin (Trina) and Doug (Denise) Thompson, all of Coal Valley; grandchildren, Jacob, Devin, Kayla, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Jaida, Aaliyah, Landon, Lilah, Connor, and Isaac; brother, Joe (Janie) Richmiller; sister, Helen Schubert; and special friends, Meghanne Kendall and Dee Nelson.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Mary Jane Denhardt, Carlene Daligee, and Donald Richmiller.
