January 14, 1941 - September 13, 2025

Lorenda S. Stoner, 84, of Viola, Ill. passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island Hospital. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Dennison Funeral, Viola. The funeral service will directly follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Viola Fire Department or Viola United Methodist Church.

Lorenda was born on January 14, 1941 in rural Rock Island County at home to Oliver and Mildred Stewart Reed. She graduated from Winola High School. Lorenda married Jesse Stoner on December 29, 1957 in Viola. She was a homemaker who enjoyed attending her grandkids' sporting events and antiquing. Lorenda was a member of the Viola United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish Lorenda's memory include her husband, Jesse of Viola; children: Cynthia Stoner of Viola, Patti (Craig) Easley of Viola, Laura (Mike) Riddell of Oquawka, Ill., and Karen (Chris) Morley of Muscatine, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace E. Hardie of Oakland, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Dennis Stoner of Viola; a sister-in-law, Joyce (Larry) Thomason of Land O' Lakes, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy Slavish; and two brothers, Richard and Gary Reed.
