MOLINE-Marilyn J. Eckles, 86, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, in Moline, IL.
Services will be on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL, with visitation before service beginning at 9:30 am - 11:00 am. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park, Rock Island, IL.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marilyn was born in Iowa City, IA, on April 8, 1936, to Hubert and Velma (Burkley) Waldschmidt. She married Ernest C. Eckles on July 11, 1959, who preceded her in death in 1990.
In her youth she grew up on a farm in Kalona, IA, and then moved with her family to Rock Island in the early 1950's.
Marilyn graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1956. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, reading the newspaper, and researching family genealogy.
Survivors include her daughters Mary (Jim) Soseman of Bettendorf, IA, Maria Peterson(Gary Sloan) of Rock Island, IL, and Joyce (Troy) Rollins of Sherrard, IL; sons Ernest M. and David A. Eckles, both of Moline, IL; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
