Marilyn was born on August 2, 1933, in Miller, SD, the daughter of Clifford Clerk and Ella Sophia Engelake Hudson. She married Keith Hultquist on September 10, 1954, at Swedesburg Lutheran Church. Marilyn was two days shy of celebrating her 91st birthday and a month away from celebrating her and Keith's 70th wedding anniversary.

Marilyn was taken in by her foster parents, Pastor Carl and Beverly Benander, as a teenager, in Swedesburg, IA. She graduated and played basketball at Olds High School. Marilyn graduated from Moline Lutheran Nursing School. She worked at the University Hospital as a registered nurse. Marilyn also worked as a school nurse for West Middle School and McKinley Elementary, and for Coronary Risk Factor for research programs and studies. She was on the Mental Health Board and various committees of Grace Lutheran Church. Marilyn loved winters in Florida and enjoyed golfing with her husband in Florida and at Geneva Country Club in Muscatine. She and her husband were regular diners at the Family Restaurant in Muscatine. With all of these accomplishments, she was happiest as a wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Her grandchildren nicknamed her "Sugar" because she was so sweet.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Keith of Wilton; her sons: Doug Hultquist and his wife, Nancy Reed Hultquist, of Rock Island, IL, and Rick Hultquist and his wife, Tami Eggenburg Hultquist, of Muscatine; three granddaughters: Sarah Hultquist Conrad and husband, Will, of Memphis, TN, Amy Hultquist Carter and husband, Andrew, of Frisco, TX, and Kayla Hultquist Ripperger and husband, Ryan, of Blue Grass, IA; seven great-grandchildren: Katherine, Caroline, George, and Robert Conrad, Henry and Charlotte Carter, and Mason Ripperger; her foster brothers: Larry, and Stan Benander; and her foster sister, Carleen Stamp.

She is preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; siblings: Kentner Hudson, David Hudson, Marlys Jensen, and Mardell Kempe; and her foster brother, Carl Benander.

The family is very thankful for the end-of-life care Marilyn received at the Wilton Retirement Community.

Deepest sympathy to Keith and family.
Keith was my Sunday School teacher. I became a friend of Marilyn when I worked in the operating room at Muscatine. We were both graduates of Lutheran Hospital School for Nurses. The last time we visited was when we both were looking for Spring plants at Taylor´s Market. Judy
