CORDOVA-Michael Allen Keith, 61, of Cordova, IL, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 4, 2021 with a Service to follow at 1:00 pm at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be made to his wife, Robin Keith.
Mike was born June 14, 1960 in Moline, IL, the son of James D. and Margaret M. (DeRoo) Keith. He married Robin Appelquist on May 14, 1988. Mike was an Engineer for the Iowa Interstate Railroad. He was a member of the United Transportation Union.
Mike loved working on cars, going on vacation to Florida, gambling, going out to eat at the casinos, being out on the river, having a few drinks and a nice bonfire, grilling, going for walks and just hanging out with his family and wife. He also enjoyed passing on his knowledge and teaching others his smart ways and offering advice to whoever he could. Mike had a huge heart and loved his family and always put them before himself. His animals were special to him as well, especially his golden retriever dog named Buddy.
Mike is survived by his wife Robin of Cordova; sons, Jerad A. Keith and Michael G. Keith; grandson, Bryce Keith; siblings, Kathy Gelande, Nancy Gosa and Tom Keith. He was preceded in death by his parents, James D. Keith & Margaret M. Keith and brother, Jim Keith, Jr. Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com.
