Nancy Lee McCarthy Beem

Nancy Lee McCarthy Beem, 82, of Omaha, Neb., passed away February 19, 2025, in Omaha, Neb.

Rafferty Funeral Home is assisting her family with a private burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arthritis Foundation and Humane Society all in Omaha. Nancy Lee was born August 31, 1942, in Rock Island.

Nancy graduated from Moline High 1960. Most of her life she worked retail. A few places she worked were Gordman's, Nobbie's, Factory Card Outlet and Big Lots all in Omaha. She was a stocker, cashier, sales clerk, office manager of departments and even scanned and unloaded trucks. Her favorite place to work was Workout Circle for Women. She loved to get members to join and workout with her. She also cleaned houses with a friend. She was a caregiver with her dad by helping take care of her mother. The last job she held was running the Honey Hole at Mega Market, a flea market that was her family of friends that got her thru some bad times. This was her happy place.

Nancy loved to walk in parks, shop, exercise, Tai-chi and have coffee with her friends.

If you want to remember Nancy Lee, she would love if you went to Walnut Grove Park, Omaha. There you can say a prayer and let loose a balloon for her soul. This was her favorite place!

Survivors include her sons, Ted D. (Melissa) Swanson, Omaha and Terry Allen Swanson; grandchildren, Maisa and Corbin, Omaha; father, Robert Francione, Bettendorf; and cousin, Priscilla (Rick) Simmons, Moline. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jo Francione and brother, Jimmy Allen McCarthy.
