Ronald E. Merideth, 82, of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Arrangements are entrusted to Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL
Ron was born August 31, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, son of Carl and Hazel Merideth. He graduated from UTHS Class of 1959. Ron married Sharon Vande Voorde on October 21, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline, IL.
Ron adored his wife of 62 years and was very proud of his family. He always put them first.
Ron was a welder for MidAmerican Energy for 42 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Christ the King Church, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon, of East Moline; three children, daughters, Julie Myers, East Moline and Jill (Chuck) Lamb, Greenville, WI; son, Jeff (Donna) Merideth, East Moline; seven grandchildren, Amanda (John) Carrico, Allison (Tony) Duggan, Ashley Wright, Breanne (Brad) Cebulski, Brett DePorter, Drew (Kassidy) Merideth and Ryan (Hannah) Merideth; 14 great-grandchildren, Anne, Matthew, Claire, Presley, Molly, Crosby, Lincoln, Oliver, Emory, Emalynn, Emsley, Asher, Liv, and Evelynn; niece, Robyn Kelly, Michigan and other family members.
Ron was preceded by his parents; brother, Don; sister-in-law, Betty; granddaughter, Marissa; son-in-law, Scott; niece, Dawn; and his nephew, Scott.
