Rudolph Valentino Kauzlarich

COLONA-Rudolph Valentino Kauzlarich, 93, of Colona passed away August 8, 2021 at River Crossing of Moline.
Funeral services will be 12noon Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Rudy was born September 21, 1927 in Chariton, IA the son of Tony and Ramona (Buyon) Kauzlarich. He married Gertrude VanKlaveren October 20, 1973 in Nashua, IA. Rudy served in the US Army during WWII. He was a proud veteran and was a member of the American Legion in Milan. He was a lineman for many years working for many high line companies. He also worked for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric and Mid-American Energy. Rudy was a member of the IBEW 55 and IBEW 109. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and cutting grass.
Survivors include his wife Gertrude; son Joe (Linda) Kauzlarich of Colona; step children Arnold (Elzeda) Kershaw of Colona and Sharon (Rod) Earl of East Moline; 20 grandchildren; 1 bonus granddaughter Jessica; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister Gloria Crall of Albia, IA and many nieces and nephews.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, son Jerald, 5 brothers; 6 sisters; 2 half-brothers and 1 half-sister.
The family would like to thank the nurse and caregivers at New Perspective Senior Living for all the care given to Rudy and the family.

with sympathy - joe had alot of great times as kids, & i still remember most of it. your dad taking us mushroom hunting! too many to list! so sorry!

I´m so sorry for your loss. I use to take care of his brother Joe and Clara Kauzlarich, Rudy would come to see Joe and they would laugh he would spend quite a while with his brother talking about his place in Albia Rudy always had a joke to tell Joe and make him laugh. Take care and God Bless
