Sandra "Sandy" Jo Duncan, 67, of Erie, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis, IL.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, Erie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kings Kloset, Erie.
Sandy was born on April 4, 1956, in Moline, IL, the daughter of John "Rodney" and Elizabeth (Ekstrand) Dillin. She married Larry Mack Duncan on December 20, 1975, at the Hillsdale Methodist Church. Sandy earned her Associates Degree in nursing from Black Hawk College and developed a lifelong passion for nursing. She started her career at Illini Hospital working as a registered nurse, and then transitioned to home health care. She retired from Whiteside County Health Department in 2012.
Sandy loved sports and coaching her children when they were young. In recent years she was an avid follower of her grandchildren's sporting events and extra curricular activities. Sandy also enjoyed camping and volunteering at King's Kloset and as an Election Judge. She will be remembered for her devotion to serving others.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Duncan; children: Valerie (Eric) Inman, Troy, OH, Brock (Mandy) Duncan, Riverdale, IA, Jeffery Duncan, Erie, IL, David (Taylor) Duncan, Morrison, IL; sister, Debra Parkinson, Prophetstown, IL; uncle, Robert Dillin, Erie, IL; and her grandchildren: Spencer, Nora, and Brantley Inman, Austin Daufeldt, Mason and Finn Duncan, Reece Duncan, Isabella, Ava, Kinley and Kendall Duncan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Matthew Dillin; and granddaughter, Emily Duncan.
