Steven "Steve" M. Churchill

Steven "Steve" Michael Churchill, 57, of East Moline, Ill., formerly of Cordova, Ill., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center – Illini Campus, Silvis, Ill. Private Graveside Services will be held at the Cordova Cemetery. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.

Steve was born on May 7, 1967, in Moline, Ill., to Billeray "Bill" and Lila (Jordan) Churchill. He attended Riverdale schools in Port Byron, and after high school he worked maintenance at Aramark for several years.

Steve loved working with his hands. As a child he loved to tinker with cars and hang out with Bob Windt and the rest of the Cordova boys fixing hovercrafts and taking them for a ride on the river. He also enjoyed camping. Steve was a wonderful person who would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Steve is survived by his sons, Brandon Churchill, of Geneseo, Ill., and Dagan Churchill, of New Windsor, Ill.; a brother, Ray (Andrea) Churchill, of Albany, Ill.; sisters, Lori Knight, of East Moline, Ill., Shelley Strombach, of Cordova, Ill., and Brenda (Steve) Kachelhoffer, of Dodgeville, Wis.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
